How it works
From the parking lot to the last send.
Boulderist is a logbook for bouldering. It keeps track of every climb you try, at your gym or outside, so you can see what you’ve sent and how you’re improving.
- 1
Pick where you’re climbing
Tap + and choose your gym or crag, from your favorites, your recent places or the map. A session starts with a timer running.
- 2
Log each climb
Pick the grade and hold color, count your falls, and mark it as a flash, a send or a project. Add a photo, a note or the hold types if you like. Climbed it before? Pick it from your past climbs and log it again.
- 3
End the session
See how many problems you topped, your hardest send and how long you climbed. Pause anytime for a rest.
- 4
Watch yourself improve
Progress turns your sessions into a grade pyramid, flash rate, monthly tops and streaks, so you know when you’re ready to step up a grade.
Inside the app
Four tabs. Everything you need.
Home
Your session in progress with its timer, tops, flashes and hardest climb. Between sessions: this week’s climbs, your recent climbs and a quick look at your progress, with a big button to start climbing.
Progress
Pick a range (a single month, the last 30 days or 3 months, this year, all time or your own dates) and see your hardest send and flash, flash rate, tops, time climbed, grade pyramid, tops by month, how you do on each hold type, the places you climb and every session.
Areas
A map of climbing gyms and outdoor bouldering areas. Search by name or town, star your favorites, get directions, and browse the problems at outdoor areas so you can log them by name.
Profile
Your name, light or dark mode, your plan, grading scales (V grades, V ranges or your own) and custom hold colors. Export your whole logbook as a spreadsheet, or erase it.
What it does
Built for the session, not the spreadsheet.
Log in seconds
Grade, hold color, falls and a photo. Mark each climb as a flash, a send or a project.
Sessions with a timer
Start a session when you get to the gym, pause for a rest, and end it with a summary of your tops and hardest send.
See your progress
Your grade pyramid, flash rate, hardest send and weekly streaks, for any range of weeks or months.
Gyms and crags
Find climbing gyms and outdoor bouldering areas on a map, or search by name or town. Outdoor areas list their problems.
Your grades, your way
V grades, V ranges or your gym's own scale. Make your own hold colors and grading scales.
Private by design
Your logs stay on your iPhone. No account, no ads, no tracking. Export everything to a spreadsheet any time.
